Missions

On March 13 a team (3 from Calvary Baptist Church) will board a plane to go to Southeast Asia. They will return home on March 31. This team will be working in several areas that have one or more Unreached People Groups. An unreached people group (UPG) is a people group that’s total population is less than 2% evangelical Christian. This team will be seeking to fulfill the Great Commission by prayer-walking, handing out tracts, visiting people in the villages, teaching English to children, and proclaiming the Gospel in street markets. Another important part of this trip will be encouraging new believers and leaders of the small churches.

Below you will find a prayer guide. Please pray for this team and their efforts to reach Southeast Asia with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Spiritual Readiness

1. Pray for this team asking that they would be ready as pure, humble, faithful vessels through whom the Holy Spirit can work.

2. Pray that each team member will be sensitive and obedient to the Holy Spirit.

3. Pray for God’s presence to be with each team member in such a way that it is unmistakable to those whom they come in contact with.

Physical Details

1. Pray for safe travel and good health for the team both to and from Southeast Asia.

2. Pray that God will work every circumstance for His glory.

3. Pray for the families of these missionaries as their loved ones are away.

The Heart of the People

1. Pray that God will direct their steps and bring them to people of peace.

2. Pray that they will be empowered by the Holy Spirit to speak boldly with all confidence as they share the mystery of the gospel.

3. Pray that God will soften the hearts of those who hear.

4. Pray that the enemy will not be allowed to steal away the Word from their hearts.

5. Pray that they will understand and receive the Good News of God’s love for them.

6. Pray that the Holy Spirit will draw many people to Him and that they would by faith be reconciled to God and find forgiveness for their sins.

7. Pray that new churches would be planted that glorify God in the way they love one another and that they will carry the Gospel forward among their own people.

8. Pray for these new Southeast Asia Christians to grow strong in faith and begin to lead the church.
